Dropping in on: TRAVIS LOGIE - Re: Teahupo'o [ the end of the road ]

25/01/12 - 00:00:00AM ~ By Zigzag ~

The 2011 Billabong Pro Tahiti was arguably the most entertaining contest in living memory. Sure, you'll have a few claiming the last day of the Spur Surfbout in '85 at macking Outer Kom as the most epic contest of all time, or Bells Beach 1981, but let’s face it, Outer Kom or Bells sure ain't Teahupo'o.

The Tahiti contest also saw the start of a heroic run by Travis Logie which saw him make the semi finals, re-qualify for the second half of the Dream Tour, as well as cement his place amongst the 2012 elite. With the ASP reverting to the one-year rotation and three big round lefts on the schedule (Teaupoo, Cloudbreak and Pipeline) , the man is looking solid for a stellar year. We chatted to Travis about the seductive beast that is Teahupo'o and the event that's no doubt on every pro's mind for 2012.

Question
Should fishermen be allowed to pull a trek net through the lineup and bathing area at Surfer’s Corner in Muizenberg?

Yes, people’s lives depend on it (food). The surfers and bathers have alternatives.

No, people’s lives depend on it (shark attacks). The fishermen have alternatives.

No opinion either way, don’t care, doesn’t make a difference to the universe, etc.
